BattleCritters understands the importance health plays in the lives of children with disabilities. BattleCritters will donate 10% of our online payment transactions directly to Shriners Hospitals for Children. This means that every BattleCritters game that is played, is helping children around the world. Shriners is a one-of-a-kind international health care system dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs.
About Shriners Hospital for Children
Shriners International is a fraternity based on fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. Shriners International supports Shriners Hospitals for Children, an international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children and receive all services at no financial obligation to families.

Why Shriners?
Co-Founder of BattleCritters, Nick Barfuss has two children with Rigid Spine Muscular Dystrophy, and found support, help, and reassurance with Shriners Hospitals for Children. He has the following to say:
Both my children were born with Muscular Dystrophy, and have had a very hard life with respiratory illnesses, overall muscle weakness, and severe scoliosis. Shriners Hospital for children offered to perform world class spine surgery on both of my children when the time comes. It is a scary thought to imagine my children suffering, but I know these surgeries will be necessary for both of them. Let me say they are not cheap. The fact that Shriners is able to organize, and help they way they have is touching, and remarkable. in the meantime they have given me daughter a wheel chair, bracing and lots of other services. I would have never been able to financially fulfill me dreams of starting a video game business without the support of Shriners. I hope that our 10% donations will help them touch other lives.
